  • Summary

Have you ever wanted to try on someone else's body? Well, with this interactive multimedia installation, you can!. Maybe you've tried out one of those "Face Swap" apps on you phone? Well, this installation is kind of like that, except with your whole body

    Full description of the concept

This installation is a video projection which people can stand in front of. The projector is mounted high above the screen, projecting down on to the screen at a sharp angle so that people's bodies do not get in the way of the projection beam. A Kinect Depth sensor is mounted at the bottom of the screen. It picks up the images of the spectators (who are illuminated by a lamp pointing outwards towards the spectators). Their images are captured and swapped in real-time. The installation is designed for two people at a time, and they can delight in manipulating the body of their viewing partner like a puppet (and naturally vice versa). You can see a brief video of it in action here:

    About the group/Artist

I am a multi-media artist who specializes in sculpture and interactive installations. My interactive installations are designed to turn the spectator into a performer in some way. My works tend to satirize the drive to optimize our bodies and our need to curate how those optimized bodies are represented to the world as digital "stories".

How do you plan to Strike the Project?

I plan to deinstall the projector and the screen on the last day. It shouldn't be too much work. There aren't that many components,

How can other burners co-create with you?

Maybe could help me mount the projector and screen? (I may need some kind of hanging construction or mount it on a marquee which I will bring)

    What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Kiez Burn is a platform that allows you to share your dreams.

    • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? * 700w - Desktop PC: 250, Projector: 250 ,2 LED Lamps 100 each (200w)

    • Will there be light? Yes, although I need to give the projector a rest at some point. There will be light from a projector and light from a medium sized "Baustrahler"

    • Will anything burn? * No fire is involved.

    • What is your audio footprint? * No noise.

    • What’s your ecological footprint? It uses power, it has some ecological footprint.
